This is my nephew Emmanuel. I get a kick out of him. He calls me out and puts me in place, I love it coming from him. He’s twenty years old has been around me enough to know me more than I know myself. He had been going to another stylist because he says I don’t listen to him.. LOL..it didn’t bother me..I’m glad he went..the stylist did his hair pretty good. I don’t like to talk bad about other people’s work. He came to me yesterday..I bleached his hair then applied the red. He was very happy with it. I did not get to blend his #fadecut like I wanted to since my client showed up and I needed to start with her. He made an agreement to come at least once a month so that I could touch up his red again.. he was happy indeed. Here’s one of our typical conversations we had yesterday.
Me: I look ugly today.
Emmanuel: Ummm Hummm who you tellin..
This is Julie. I had to recut her hair on Saturday. I left it choppy a few days before..I was running behind and rushed her. I could feel the piercing glances through the mirror from my next client who was waiting in the lobby area. Energy speaks louder than words. Funny Julie was playing on her cell and she too could feel the negative vibrations. You can’t squeeze every in..some clients want ALL your attention and get jealous if you spend to much time on someone else.
I colored and cut Julie’s hair…her hair is resistant and pulls a lot of red. I’ve been controlling her red tones by doing low lights. I use a level 7 ash and do bleach highlites as well. And here you have the finish look tada!
This is what eyelashes extensions are supposed to look like. Not like glued tarantulas. This is my client Rosa she got her eyelashes done by one of the girls that works in one of the suites across from me. Rosa is a single mother who I really respect. She is a mother of three. She put herself through nursing school…she is one on the nurses who schooled me on Potassium. Remember the drama, my hair fell out from deficiency. BTW my hair is growing back I take my prescribed potassium religiously…dont mess around with your medication. I want to get my lashes done as well..but I have to take care of some things first. Fix yourself inside and out. Your body is your temple. Rest, eat right and the best that you can be.💙
Small world. Dana use to work at Regis Hairstyles at the Galleria mall in Redondo Beach 20 years ago a month before I started. I heard nothing but good things about her. Here it is 20 years later I finally got to meet her at Sola Salons where I work. She shares a studio with another #stylist. She invited me to dinner a few weeks ago and after we started talking I figured out who she was. I like her so much. She is so positive and vibrant…I miss her when she isnt at work.
She asked me to shave the back of her hair. I decided to do a hair design. This isnt the finshed work. Her client showed up and I didnt get a chance to take a picture of the finished work….
Chase your dreams. Learn to have faith in yourself, trust your intuition, limit your association with haters who are envious and jealous of you, count your blessings, pray, write down your goals, give without the intention to recieve, force yourself to forgive someone who has caused you deep pain, stay focussed, whatever you do do your best at doing it. One day you will reach your dream..it took me 30 years to have something to show for all my hard work as a hairstylist but I finally did it. I have my own Sola Salon Studio. This is one of the best things that could of ever happened to me. My work performance has gone up, I dont have to deal with gossipy coworkers in my buisness..I can work until whenever I want. I can color my gray hairs in privacy, listen to my choice of music, charge what I want. My dream doesnt end here. I still have to take the time to meet celebrity hairstylist Nick Chavez. We’ve been wanting to meet but we have busy life schedules. I thank all the instagram famous hairstylists like Larrisa Love, Nick Chavez, Guy Tang, Bescene and many more for inspiring me to leave the former salon I worked at. I still have to perfect taking hair pictures #thestruggleisreal. Its not easy taking hair pictures its harder than doing hair…but I’m improving. Thank you WordPress followers for reading my blog. Thank you for liking my pictures. Thank you for popping up in my modifications…because of you you’ve helped me to become a Boss Babe😉🖤
