This is Julie. I had to recut her hair on Saturday. I left it choppy a few days before..I was running behind and rushed her. I could feel the piercing glances through the mirror from my next client who was waiting in the lobby area. Energy speaks louder than words. Funny Julie was playing on her cell and she too could feel the negative vibrations. You can’t squeeze every in..some clients want ALL your attention and get jealous if you spend to much time on someone else.
I colored and cut Julie’s hair…her hair is resistant and pulls a lot of red. I’ve been controlling her red tones by doing low lights. I use a level 7 ash and do bleach highlites as well. And here you have the finish look tada!
It took 3 hours to get it like this. It’s a lot of work. This is $200 job but she gave me $140..I.told her $150 but she was short on cash. I’m following my first gut instinct to charge what the job is worth instead of charging cheap and then walking around all resentful. Charge your worth. At the end of the day if you are late to an appointment they will drop kick you and go somewhere else.
This did not happen over nite her hair is black. I like to take my time and blonde people out. Yes it’s possible to do it over nite but I like to pay attention to how the hair is going to react with the #bleach. I recommend that you do a deep conditioner at home or in the salon if you can a day or two before your blonding sessions. Keep your ends trimmed and take lots of vitamins. Dont forget to drink lots of water as well.
This goes to show how hair color looks completely different in pictures. No flash and flash. This is a new client I bleached out her whole entire head with foils instead of applying it all over the scalp and hair. Her hair color was that of a golden blond. She had color on it. It’s best to work on virgin hair. You can get the hair blonder quicker. The last time I did bleach on the roots it was a disaster. The girl’s hair melted off. I will never do that again. Since then I’ve discovered the joico protein pre treatment, it makes a big difference. It helps protect the hair and it’s cheaper than olaplex. I worked on her hair for 4 hours. It was a $300 dollar job but I only charged her $160. I’m slowly getting better at raising my prices and charging my worth. I don’t use cheap products. These issues take time. Little by little I’m raising my prices one client at a time.
Small world. Dana use to work at Regis Hairstyles at the Galleria mall in Redondo Beach 20 years ago a month before I started. I heard nothing but good things about her. Here it is 20 years later I finally got to meet her at Sola Salons where I work. She shares a studio with another #stylist. She invited me to dinner a few weeks ago and after we started talking I figured out who she was. I like her so much. She is so positive and vibrant…I miss her when she isnt at work.
She asked me to shave the back of her hair. I decided to do a hair design. This isnt the finshed work. Her client showed up and I didnt get a chance to take a picture of the finished work….
