Before and After

Three hours later before and after tonight. I need to get a chandelier with natural lights. I’m still having the same problem here with the  flourescent lights.  You can’t see the true color. Oh well.

Before and after

Ladies please do not color your hair black then decide you want it light a few months later. Black is difficult to get out..this was the first session..its going to take me a couple of times to get the color the client and I both want.

Hair extensions

I did my child friend’s hair extensions today.  No glue or the other new techniques that pulls the hair out. I do it the old school sew in tracks. It lasts her about two months before she has to come in and redo them. She is one of the most confident people I know. Love her 🖤

Cotton candy

This is yesterday’s work..no filter no flash. My new model Ashley. I was about to tell you more about her stories she shared yesterday but I can’t concentrate. I’m still annoyed with my last client I had tonight. …ugh….
I better clean up now..I hope to blog later when the steam cools off my ears 😂

The audacity

Things are slowly changing for me as far as my codependent attitude of charging low prices. Folks want to come up in here like it’s the 70s and pay cheap prices. I quoted a regular client  $50 for her color roots, mind you color roots go anywhere from  $65-$100. I color her roots then she decides she wants me to cut her hair which I end up doing. Once I’m done coloring, cutting and styling I tell her it’s  $85…she blurted out “Oh! I thought you quoted me  $50!! …Do you honestly think you are going to pimp me again and not catch on that I just gave you hair cut!!…I walk her to the front door and notice her brand new Mercedes Benz!! She lives at home and doesn’t pay rent.  I’m livid at myself for letting folks get by with murder. I’m doing  $300 jobs for  $85?  No more.  I’m NOT only going to raise her prices I’m going stop making appointments for her. The welfare department is out of buisness starting 2018.

She told me I could

I was at the shop till 3 am doing hair listening to tales last night. After I’m done with a client I have to clean up count my money whine down before I take the long trip home. This is Ashley I’ve known her since she was 11 years old. I haven’t seen her since and she hasn’t let anyone touch her hair either.  She told me that I could blog about her drug addiction experience and her stripper days. It all started with pain killer addiction which led her to go as far as injecting other drugs. She was homeless for three years sleeping in alleys, cars or sleeping on people’s sofas. She did three months in jail and was making six hundred dollars a nite as a stripper. She taught me how they are trained not to wear too much perfume, glitter or makeup so that it doesn’t get on the client’s clothes. Most of them are married and the club dont  want drama with their wives. I asked her if good looking men go to the clubs. She said the finer and more handsome they are the more twisted in the head they are. She’s been sober for five years is suffering depression but finally got out that dark lifestyle.  One part of her story that stood out to me was how she was drugged by other strippers the first or second nite she showed up for work. She reminded me how vicious women can be when it comes to competing for money and men. The story goes on but I must go rinse my client now her color is done.

I made Ashley my new hair model , she’s going to let me try different colors and cuts. I’m so happy she’s alive and well. She’s not bitter or angry at her past, she found love and is happy with a good man that saved her from herself……how does her hair look.  To be continued.  Gotta go!!

Thank you

I want to thank each and everyone of my followers. I’m a little annoyed I just posted a long paragraph and just like that poof!! It disappeared!! I can’t even find it in my drafts.  That is the one thing that bothers me about posting here… Ugh. ..anyhoo..again thank you..I want to type more but who knows if my post is going to disappear like Houdini.

2018 men’s hairstyles

This is my nephew Emmanuel. I get a kick out of him. He calls me out and puts me in place, I love it coming from him. He’s twenty years old has been around me enough to know me more than I know myself. He had been going to another stylist because he says I don’t listen to him..  LOL..it didn’t bother me..I’m glad he went..the stylist did  his hair pretty good. I don’t like to talk bad about other people’s work.  He came to me yesterday..I bleached his hair then applied the red. He was very happy with it. I did not get to blend his #fadecut like I wanted to since my client showed up and  I needed to start with her. He made an agreement to come at least once a month so that I could touch up his red again.. he was happy indeed. Here’s one of our typical conversations we had yesterday.

Me: I look ugly today.

Emmanuel: Ummm Hummm who you tellin..

ROTFL…

Ombre

Here is a before and after on a new client today. It’s lighter in person.  I bleached it and did a balayage technique, rinsed it dried it then applied 6ash on the roots 20 volume,  bottom wella t18 with 20 volume with a few drops of joico titanium in the wella mixture and left it on for 15 min.
